Harvest and the Hunt

Hello once again everyone. I trust you are doing fine today. It's well into the harvest season now, farmers are gathering the last of the peanuts, and cotton is ready to pick. It's also hunting season here in Alabama. Regardless of the quarry you seek, whether it be a darting Dove, or the quick Rabbit, or the elusive Whitetail Deer please try your best to practice safety rules. We don't want anyone getting hurt.
For those of you who don't hunt, please understand that most people hunt as a another form of bonding with the creator. Usually family is involved in the event. Dads use the time afield to build stronger relationships with their offspring. Old friends get reacquainted, and new bonds are formed each season.
There are those among us who try to discourage hunting, and believe that it's akin to animal cruelty. Well that's simply not true. There are many verses in the Bible that give each of us the right to hunt, and in fact God uses hunting as an example to teach us how to get closer to him."Arise Peter, slay and eat".
My favorite hunting verse in the bible is found in Proverbs Chapter 12 verse 27-The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting:but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
The people I hunt with treat the animal with respect, and thank God for each animal harvested.
Until next time, God Bless you and yours.
