A Life Well Lived

Our boys need our prayers more than ever. I will be honest. I didn't know that the team had a student assistant coach named Joe. I know another family, though, with a little boy with the same heart condition that ended Joe's life too soon. Everything I have read leads me to believe this young man was a believer and is now with Jesus. It seems he made the most of his very short time on earth. Pray for our players, the coaches, and Joe's family. They are missing someone this evening. If any of ya'll didn't know, I teach high school students with learning problems. I have seen many young lives taken too soon. It can be heart wrenching. Last year, about this time, one of my former students was killed in a car accident. It hurt me deeply, so I know this community needs our prayers. It doesn't take the pain away, but God had a different plan for Joe's life. The number of the days in his life were different from others. It seems like Joe made the most of the time God had him on earth.

Jeremiah 29:11

New International Version (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future

I will often use this verse. It always makes me happy and sad at the same time. One of my best friends used this in his valedictorian address to my high school graduating class. Less than three years later, he was dead from meningitis. I take joy and comfort in knowing that my friend knew Jesus as his Lord but sadness in wondering what he would be doing today.

I forgot to mention earlier that if you don't have access to a player roster, you can access one at the auburntigers.com website. Click sports, then football, then roster.

Our boys are being attacked by the enemy. They need prayers for comfort and protection. I pray all of you are having a great week.

Fearless and True

Did you pray for your players this week? Tell me about it! If you haven't msgd your info to KB, you can do that on twitter. Send him a message at autigerbloggin and he will fix a login up for you. I prayed for players 60 and up. I kind of divided them up and prayed for about 12 or so a night. This is more than about praying for a 'win'. I just feel that these guys are being faced with many things. If you didn't hear, the guys were dealt another blow with the death of their friend, Joe Bagwell, a student assistant with the team. I have heard more and more about players giving accounts of coming to know God during their college years. Because more are coming to know Jesus, Satan is going to attack. Let's give them support.

If you aren't sure about what to pray for, read up on your guys. I have prayed for them for protection, health,  happiness, safety, and then if there was something I knew about the player individually, I tried to pray for that, too.

This week is an off week but let's keep praying for them.

If you can't  or dont want to do it, please let me know so we can make sure each player gets prayed for individually.

Johnathan 41-60
Sam 61-80
Mike 80 and above and the coaches

If you know someone else that wants to join up, let me know.

Tell me about how you saw God moving in the players you prayed for! I got to pray for Emory this week. What I saw Saturday was a young man encouraging his teammates. I saw a kid standing tough in a hard-hitting game. I got to pray for Angelo Blackson. I noticed he made some big plays.

Col 4:2
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Let me know!

Prayer Thoughts

As you may have heard, we here at CTC have started a prayer group to pray for the players of football teams. We have several people doing this that are Auburn fans, but anyone can participate. It can be your High School team, or even, another sport team. It doesn't matter to us, the who or why, just that these players have someone prying for their lives on and off the field, or court.

My group was selected to be Auburn football players with jersey numbers 1 through 20. The things that I prayed for, for each of these young men are safety on the field, and humbleness of heart to treat all people with kindness. I thanked God that these young men are getting an education, and that they have an opportunity to become better human beings.

There are personal prayers that were offered, and thanks given. #17 Kris Frost tweeted just last week that he was getting Baptized last Sunday. What a joyous moment in a young man's life.

We would encourage each of you to share some of your prayer thoughts with us, and if you would like us to include someone you know in our prayers, please by all means let us know your needs. The power that prayer brings is unimaginable, and peaceful all at once.

God bless.

Praying for Players

I would like to welcome Christy to our staff here at CTC, and wish her the most fulfilling of adventures as a contributor here. We have started a program of sorts called "Praying For Players".

As most of you know I am an Auburn sports enthusiast, but don't let that stop you from adding your thoughts and prayers of your teams and the players, coaches, and their families. You are more than welcome to leave your kind thoughts, and prayers in our comment section at the end of each post.

This is a non-denominational site, and everyone is welcome.

Thanks and GOD bless,
Klell aka KoolBell

Prayer Works

I divided up the players this week by numbers. I gave each person a certain set of numbers. I was thinking maybe at the end of the week, we could share some of the things we prayed for. I did not ask Sam to pray for any particular group, as his wife has been quite ill. If anyone else wants to join in, please let me know.
It has just been something on my heart. I feel like these boys need some spiritual protection. I have been trying to pray for a small group each day so they all get a little time. I have been trying to pray for each one by name and pray for as much specifically as I can. Let me know about the rest of you!

Changes Are Coming

Just a brief note to let each of you know that we are making some changes here at CTC.

We will be adding a Sunday School lesson each week from my Nephew, and a prayer group has been started for College football players, that will shared with each of you.

We look forward to spreading God's message, and bringing joy to lives all across the universe.

God bless
